Types Of Methods Used For Coating Fabrics Varies Widely Depending On The Needs
It is very
important that you take care of your favourite apparel and prevent it from
getting damaged after prolonged usage. However, protecting fabrics on a large
scale like the hotel industry and hospitals require a lot of consideration as
it is impossible to look into each of the pieces with careful eyes. This is
where the coating fabrics
technology appeared and after its invention, there has never been any dip.
Coating of
fabrics will make the material durable and enhancing the feel of it. There are
several ways to apply the coating over the fabric.
Knife procedure – In this
process, a knife is placed over the material and while the fabric rotates
consistently the liquid coating is spread over the fabric. It is like applying
butter over the bread. The angle of the knife can be changed as per requirement
which is used to determine the thickness of the coating. After the application
of the coating, it is dried thoroughly and left to dry before usage.
Rolling method – As the
name suggests, the rolling procedure is conducted by a rolling pin which glides
on the fabric smoothly spreading the coating evenly. Another knife is placed at
the front of the roller so that the excess coating can be eradicated.
Padding – This process is
mainly used to spread fibre mixed coating on a fabric. This can be used for any
kind of coating which includes micro materials and require even spreading.
Chemicals can also be spread with this padding method. The fabric is dipped
into the pool of coating and raised for drying. The drying process includes
passing of the fabric through the hot rollers.
These were some
of the processes of coating
fabrics which are widely used for different kinds of covers. Depending
on the requirement the method is utilised to get the correct result.
